Extracurricular

Enrichment Opportunities Beyond the Classroom

Extracurricular activities are an essential component of Hillcrest’s Integrated Care Model program. Studies have found that participation in certain extracurricular pursuits significantly reduces a student’s risk of dropping out. Hillcrest students have the opportunity to participate in OHSSA-sanctioned sports, intramurals and over twenty campus clubs. These activities help students develop leadership, teamwork and communication skills that can be applied to other areas of their lives.

Opportunities

Hillcrest students play on several OHSSA sanctioned teams which compete against other area high schools. Intramurals offer every student the opportunity to play a team sport of their choice and to develop coordination, communication and leadership skills. Campus clubs (such as chess club and art club) develop our student’s intellect and creativity.

Expanding Horizons

Hillcrest students are have unique experiences that are integral components of our program. Our students have participated in basketball tournaments with other area high schools and have completed camping trips. Students have hosted guest speakers from professional athletes to local political leaders and scholars.

Leadership and Excellence

Hillcrest students practice leadership skills through the Student Council which models excellent behavior, academic proficiency and athletic accomplishment. HCA offers its students unique opportunities for personal growth and professional development through community service projects and partnerships with the University of Cincinnati.
